Admission Information

Enrollment For Kindergarten

To start Kindergarten (age 3-5) at Green Valley, our early learners must be able to emit developmental and age-appopriate expectations like being able to eat and drink independently, be potty trained with no diapers, and other standards.

We take children whose primary language is English as well as non-native English speakers. For both, we ask for character reports and sample curriculum from daycare centers or kindergartens they have previously attended. All this helps in placing our young learners in age-appropriate grades.

For parents applying long distance, we require a signed confirmation that the Kindergarten Admissions Guidelines are met. Upon arrival, based on those admissions guidelines, and with the help of feedback from our teachers after 2 weeks in class, GVNS reserves the right to ask the child to join later if she or he is deemed not ready for school.

Enrollment For Elementary/Middle School

For Grades 3-8, we require students to take a Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test on the content they have recently covered. The MAP test in English and Math can be taken on-stie at GVIS admissions office, or we can coordinate with the student’s current school to administer the MAP test on our behalf. In addition to this, students will also be required to submit a grade level writing sample based on a prompt given by our academic team.

For long distance applicants, we require that a teacher administer the student’s test at their current school. Parents are not allowed to proctor tests.

Our tests are based on past content your child has covered. The tests are evaluated in order to ensure correct grade placement and student fit at GVIS. We do take into account that students come from different education systems when reviewing our applicants. GVIS requires all applicants to the pay the Application Fee prior to the testing/assessment date. Our business office will send an invoice to you as soon as you confirm the testing/assessment date.

We also require the past two years’ report cards to assess a student’s academic history. Please do send these along with your application.

Enrollment For High School

The GVIS program is a two-year program that is a content-based curriculum. The curriculum is a great platform for our students to prepare for the two year program in Grade 11 and 12. Please ask our admissions office for more information on the programs if you are not versed in them.

For the ICSE (Grades 9 and 10), we require an English and Math test as well as the past two years’ report cards. Please note if reports do not show academic consistency and promise, GVIS might offer a conditional acceptance based on the entry level tests and the final school exam results.

Our applicants for the PUC program work with our Admissions Office, College Guidance Counselor to ensure that their course selection and course levels will help them with their chosen path after graduating from GVNS.

GVIS requires parents to pay the Application fee prior to the testing date. Our business office will send an invoice to you as soon as you confirm the test date.

Enrollment For ISC Grade XI

To enroll into the ISC programme, a student should have successfully completed Grade 10 with a pass percentage of at least 50% from the ICSE, CBSE, or State Boards. Transfer candidates from other International schools can be enrolled into Grade 11 (this is an internal requirement of the school).

New students take a placement test for English, Math and Second language, to ensure that they have adequate knowledge, understanding and skills to cope with the demands of the College and the subject teacher advise students on this matter. Parents of new applicants are given a detailed orientation about the philosophy, the benefits and demands of the course, along with its financial implications to help them make an informed decision.
